What follows is a small collection of the accumulated poetry and prose of a loving and creative person's life - someone who has played many roles: not only Mother, Wife, and Artist but also 'character' and 'nut'. This is a person we adore - her name is Dorothy Polley Ringsrud (DPR).

Tangled Ribbons by DPR . . . . . . . . . . . . .

I know

The golden ribbon of

My love,

Tangles up your life,

It streams around your

Pretty limbs.

It flows in

Streams of light,

Which you cannot

Seem to see

It's only me --

In my golden haze.

Hoping it will last,

Years instead of days.

Tangled Ribbons by Dorotht Polley Ringsrud wins the Denver Post Poetry Contest and gets published nationally.

I have to tell you, re-typing this poem word by word was a revelation! I cannot think of a more profound and timeless poem! RR
